Madison Public Schools Named PowerDistrict 2005
|
Madison, CT - ProTraxx has selected Madison Public Schools as the PowerDistrict for the Summer, 2005.
Madison chose an aggressive implementation schedule, launching the EzTraxx Online solution to its certified
employees for their 2004 November professional development day in a record breaking ten business days,
demonstrating the collaborative effort, teamwork and shared vision of all involved in the initiative.
The project began with a customized implementation and delivery plan including identification of key staff,
securing of historical professional development participation data and staff demographics, and scheduling of
targeted training for the Madison staff.
Madison’s Director of Technology, Art Sickle, built a team consisting of Administrators, Technology Specialists
and Support Staff to coordinate the initiative and the various aspects of roll-out. Instructional Technology
Specialists Dan Zittoun, Pam Benn, and Jim Wygonik provided the necessary direction, support and technical
assistance needed to have everything in place for online registration for the Fall in-service day.
Pat Dugmore, Madison Technology Support, worked closely with the ProTraxx implementation staff to schedule
effective training sessions, resulting in excellent participation and a smooth transition to EzTraxx Online.
Assistant Superintendent Anita Rutlin and her secretary, Ree DeCapua, championed the solution by gradually
promoting its numerous benefits and consistently seeking methods to ensure success district-wide. Their
ideas, vision and tenacity continue to be catalysts for adoption of the web application as a record of authority
within the district, as well as direct product enhancement at ProTraxx. The new features and functionality
related to IPDPs (Individual Professional Development Plans) are the result of brainstorming sessions with
Superintendent, Dr. Kaye Griffin, Anita Rutlin, and school administrators. The new additions are proving
useful to all clients taking advantage of the online paperless plans.
Madison exemplifies the ideal users of the application through consistent, comprehensive use of the
application which assists in streamlining processes, eliminating paperwork, and reducing related effort.
The combination of committed staff, teamwork, and communication has driven and supported their success.
The District continually seeks to facilitate processes through strong district-wide communication and
welcomed feedback to ProTraxx.
ProTraxx will help Madison celebrate their successful launch of this initiative with a year-end lunch
for the Implementation Team which will be catered by Bradley & Wall of Madison. In addition, ProTraxx
will provide a free training session for any new staff joining the District for the 2005-2006 school
year. Congratulations, Madison Public Schools!
