Selecting the Assessment Tool to Best Fit Student Needs
Selecting the Assessment Tool to Best Fit Student Needs
Selecting the best fit assessment tool is a crucial step in providing effective and meaningful programming for individuals with ASD and other related developmental disabilities. The assessment process allows practitioners to gather meaningful information regarding the learner’s repertoire across domains such as language/communication skills, social skills, behavior, activities of daily living and many other areas. Results are used as baseline measures, to guide program development and prioritize areas for goal setting. This workshop will focus on identifying the key elements of widely available assessment tools, such as the ABLLS, VB-MAPP, AFLS, FBA and ecological inventories in order to make the best and most appropriate selection when deciding which assessment to conduct.
