SLIFE MultiRegion Roundtable
Functioning as a learning community, this group will explore and discuss current issues and best practices in regards to Students with Limited / Interrupted Formal Education and Refugee students. This group will also support the work of a committee charged with the development of a SLIFE / Refugee Framework for the State of Connecticut.
Objectives
Examine assumptions and hidden challenges of formal education.Collaborate with colleagues on appropriate strategies and techniques for promoting literacy and language acquisition and building content area knowledge among SLIFE.Provide feedback to the Professional Learning Committee’s design and implementation process throughout development of CSDE SLIFE systems and guidance documents.
