Textbooks have been the primary source to help teachers guide classroom instruction through content, strategies, activities, assessments, and more. The increased use of technology has provided a variety of venues to further develop instruction through interactive experiences, context-based learning, differentiation, and more. In this workshop, we will explore how you can organize all of our resources in your very own customizable digital textbook that you can use in the classroom.
Dive into reading resources as well as activities to support their pre-beginner and beginner students’ literacy skills. We will discuss how to use phonics, word families, vocabulary, and writing activities aligned to students’ proficiency levels, to support literacy in the ESL classroom both virtually and in person. Strategies will include how to use resources in multi-level classrooms. Goal: Explore a variety of online resources to provide an array of activities that support and develop literacy skills for pre-beginner/beginner students.
Looking for new ways to engage and excite your students? Then, let’s explore Wakelet! Wakelet is a free tool for compiling, organizing and categorizing resources strategically from different sites. We will explore creative ways of utilizing Wakelet to support student learning and collaboration.
In a digital age, our information is constantly at risk of cyberattacks. In this workshop, we will discuss some of the critical risks in cyber security that all digital users face and how to protect your information online. We will also discuss online resources and ways to incorporate digital citizenship and safety including understanding the risks, defense strategies, and red flags that can be easily integrated into your classroom.
