Echoes and Reflections: Leaders in Holocaust Education

A one day workshop focusing on the experiences of witnesses to the Holocaust. Using primary source information, participants will deepen both their content knowledge on the issue of genocide, but also engaging and literacy-driven instructional practices. This session will also provide classroom teachers with resources that can be integrated into a wide range of curricula to promote cultural proficiency in their student population.

Objectives
• Promotes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching about the Holocaust to today’s students.• Promotes the integration of primary source documents in the social studies classroom.• Incorporates compelling visual history testimony into ten-multi-part and modular lessons to engage students in the lives of survivors, liberators, and other witnesses of the Holocaust.
