Equity in Science Education: NGSS for All Students (Secondary)

This 2-day blended learning workshop exposes participants to current student achievement in science, how biases impact instruction, and how the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) can support removing barriers to set all students up for success. Real teaching scenarios written by teachers on the NGSS Diversity and Equity Team will be reviewed, and student-centered instructional strategies will be examined in collaborative, discussion-based groups. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a stronger understanding of their how biases impact student success, and be able to better address them within their own classrooms and schools. Note: Optional Text "NGSS For All Students."
