Effective Presentations: What's out there and when to use it

We’ve all heard of “death by PowerPoint.” There is more to a presentation than just your outlined thoughts on a bunch of slides - even if those slides have pictures and pretty transitions. This course will review effective presentational strategies and how to effectively infuse the latest and greatest technology options out there. Whether you want to present to a classroom of students, a small group in a meeting room, a large audience at a conference, or via the web to thousands of people across the world while you’re sleeping, we’ll help you narrow find the right tool. This course is differentiated to better meet the interests and needs of the enrolled cohort. A variety of tools will be demonstrated - Prezi, screencasts, interactive polling, tablet / smartphone wireless presentations, virtual meetings, etc. based on pre-assessed student interest. After the demonstration phase, students will have time for guided practice and an opportunity to present to their peers

Notes
This course will be held in a Windows based computer lab; however, Mac or iOS based presentations can also be discussed.  If you would like to use your guided practice time on an iPad, you must bring your own.
