Understanding Executive Functioning through the Lens of Poverty
Many individuals who have disabilities as well as those who access our adult education system live in poverty. Also, many of these individuals have difficulty with executive functioning, also called higher level or sophisticated thinking. This workshop will explore the complex relationship between limited executive functioning skills and the experience of poverty.
Objectives
Participants will come away with an increased sensitivity to the struggles these clients and students face as they navigate our vocational and Adult Education systems.
