Adult Education’s Role in Immigrant Integration
This workshop will focus on the role adult ESOL programs can play in advancing immigrant integration (civic, linguistic, and economic) through organizational networks that collaborate on a common aim. We will share examples of activities that were implemented in five networks participating in the national Networks for Integrating New Americans initiative, (NINA) and consider local options for partnership. Programs can participate in a self-assessment of their readiness to implement such networks in their own communities. Andy Nash is the Director of the New England Literacy Resource Center in Boston (NELRC), and a Professional Development Specialist at World Education, Inc, where she facilitates a diverse set of professional development projects at the local, state, and national levels. If you are not currently working with an AE program, there is a charge of $50/ ½ day session or $100/full day session; billed after completion of the workshop.
