Establishing Integrated, Inclusive Early Childhood Classrooms that Work (PK-K)
Early childhood classrooms are becoming increasingly more diverse. Inclusive, integrated learning environments support the right of all children, regardless of abilities, to participate actively in natural settings within their communities. According the The Early Childhood Research Institute on Inclusion (ECRII), parents of children without disabilities who attend inclusive, integrated programs report positive changes in their children’s confidence, self-esteem, and understanding of diversity. This workshop will provide a framework for implementing evidence based, practical strategies that support the unique needs of all children in an inclusive setting. Participants will examine collaborative, environmental, and instructional methods and learn how to effectively integrate them across the curriculum and school day.
