Strategies for Students with SLD/Dyslexia at the Secondary Level
Students with SLD/Dyslexia at the secondary level require a multi­tiered system of support and intervention in order to reach their potential. Teachers and specialists need to provide a continuum of services to address skill deficits while ensuring access to the curriculum. This workshop will explore strategies for direct instruction, reasonable instructional accommodations, instructional tools and assistive technology.
Objectives
Participants will: 1. identify essential instructional needs for secondary students with SLD/Dyslexia 2. explore tools that create access to print materials in the general education curriculum 3. review framework for selecting instructional solutions for students with SLD/Dyslexia.
