Social Justice and Equity Practices in Schools to Improve Student Learning
Providing equitable and excellent education for all students is a challenge that all educators need to tackle; school administrators need to consider how their school or district applies a social justice lens. Districts must examine and revise school policies, curriculum, and practices from a social justice perspective. At this free informational session, we will discuss the professional development approach CREC has begun to incorporate. It is a data driven, specific, and intentional approach that is meant to strategically engage members of the school community in the schools transformation. CREC’s scope of professional development training offered to districts to support social justice and racial equity include: 1) Face-to-face and On-line Learning Module Platform; 2) Social Justice and Equity Audits; 3) Social Justice and Equity Curriculum Review, Revision, and Implementation; and 4) Executive Coaching for Leaders
Objectives
To examine and discuss CREC's learning modules, PD design, and explore its applicability to schools and districts.
