Teaching Oral Language Development and Foundational Reading Skills -Elementary

This RESC Alliance sponsored workshop will support elementary general education educators who are working with or have a large ELL population at their school or district with assisting ELs with Foundational Reading Skills. Teachers who attend this workshop may be teachers looking for ways to support ELL students in reading in the regular education classroom. The session will give educators various ways to build sight word fluency, provide appropriate phonics instruction, build vocabulary strategies, strengthen reading comprehension, and provide resources to engage students in the reading process

Objectives
Participants will have a toolkit of resources and strategies to engage and support English Language Learners in the area of reading instruction.
