Illustrative Math 6-8
This 3-day workshop will provide teachers and instructional leaders with professional development designed around the Illustrative Math 6-8 currricula and materials. The IM Instructional Academy is aimed toward teachers, instructional math coaches, or math team leaders in districts adopting, or considering, the Illustrative Mathematics 6–8 Math curriculum.
Objectives
Participants will engage in hands-on activities that deepen their understanding of the 5 Practices framework and illustrate the importance of norms and routines. Attendees will then learn how these practices can be applied to support teacher planning, foster student discussions, and build mathematical understandings.
