Reading Strategy Lessons that Push Past Literacy Plateaus: Where All Students Have Reading Goals and Plans
In this workshop, participants will learn to expand their vision for students who seem to be struggling, or who are stuck at particular reading levels for weeks, or even months. Participants will learn how small group instruction and conferring with specific reading goals and strategies will tackle areas of engagement. They will be able to determine the importance of fiction and nonfiction for building deep comprehension, where all readers flourish. This session will support participants who want to examine and refine their skills in reading strategies, conferring, and small group instruction.
Objectives
Upon completion of the day long workshop participants will have tools and resources to support small group strategy instruction in reading.
