Supporting Executive Functioning Development in Early Childhood Education
This workshop will review what we know about executive functioning skills and the impact this set of skills has on learning. Assessment tools will be presented to help teachers quickly identify specific areas of weaknesses that are impacting students in their classroom. Finally, classroom-wide strategies and individualized interventions will be discussed for supporting weaknesses in executive functioning skills and promoting the development of these abilities.
Objectives
Participants will learn what executive functioning skills are and the impact these skills have on learning. Participants will be able to identify specific areas of weaknesses in executive functioning that impact students in their classroom.Participants will learn strategies and interventions to support weaknesses in executive functioning skills in their students.
