Executive Function Skills
SNOW DATE is April 3, 2019
Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. The brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses. These skills are crucial for learning and development. This workshop will describe each executive function and its connection to learning.
Objectives
Participants will: 1. describe the eight areas of executive function skills 2. connect executive function skills to reading, writing and math skill development and 3. explore strategies to develop executive function skills for students of all ages.
