Mindfulness Council: Topic - All Things Yoga!
In addition to its many physical benefits, yoga can help students calm their minds, relieve stress and improve concentration and focus. These are life skills AND important pre-requisites for learning. Because yoga is an activity that can be easily adapted for all ages and physical abilities, it is being widely incorporated into schools around Connecticut. In this special Mindfulness Council session, a variety of presenters will share how they are currently integrating yoga with students; in a high school classroom, with special needs students, to promote social justice, in after-school clubs, as part of sports and/or PE class. This workshop is appropriate for participants who have never practiced yoga as well as those with yoga experience. No special clothing or equipment is needed.
