Developing Effective Models for Inclusive/LRE Practices for Students with Significant Disabilities
This module discusses inclusive/LRE practices to ensure that the student's academic, social, and language needs are being met through the general education environment in early childhood special education. This module will teach participants to understand learner variability. This will enable teachers to create instruction that maintains high academic/social standards and meaningfully engages all student. Participants will also learn how to collect and use data for the evaluation and improvement of inclusive practices.
Objectives
Participants will: 1. Use a decision-making framework to support an inclusive philosophy for students with significant disabilities in early childhood.2. Learn positive collaborative approaches.3. Explore resources for determining appropriate instructional entry points in the general education curriculum for students with significant disabilities in early childhood.
