Building and Teaching in a Trauma Informed Classroom
About 1 in 4 children witness or experience a traumatic event before the age of four, and almost 50% of children and adolescents in the United States have experienced at least one type of childhood trauma. In this training you will learn what childhood trauma is, how trauma impacts children and adolescents, and how symptoms might manifest in the classroom. We will also discuss potential triggers that students might face in the classroom and create concrete plans that can be implemented in the classroom to create a more trauma-sensitive experience for all students.
