Implementing a Math Workshop Model in a Secondary Math Classroom
Participants will learn how math centers/stations/rotations/workshops in the 5-8 math classroom can support the Connecticut Core content and process standards, while meeting the needs of all learners. We will address different structures, routines, and rituals used to initiate and sustain this type of differentiated instruction.
Objectives
Participants will learn how to use the workshop model to meet the needs of all learners.
Notes

Things to know -

  • Workshop registration does not include breakfast or lunch. Please feel free to bring your own food and beverage or visit the CREC Central Café (111 Charter Oak Ave.) which offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options with daily specials.
  • Bring a refillable water bottle and/or beverage.
  • Bring a laptop or other electronic device (some workshops require only laptop) for note taking and access to online resources.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the workshop.
  • Sometimes workshop room temperatures can vary so we suggest you dress in layers.
  • Please check the CREC website or your local TV station for any delay/closing information.
