Assistive Technology and Systematic Reading Instruction - Application: Creating Lessons for Incorporating Assistive Technology into Systematic Reading Instruction
Systematic reading instruction explicitly teaches basic reading skills in a way that is beneficial for all students. Assistive technology allows students with more significant needs to participate in this type of instruction with greater independence and success. Systematic reading instruction has a structured, predictable lesson plan with specific procedures for teaching new concepts, sounds and syllable types. This workshop allows participants to create lessons and embed assitive technology tools into the lesson procedures and activities.
