Teaching and Learning with IM High School Math Curriculum (Unit 1 Overview Included)

During this two-day event, teachers and coaches will be guided by an IM Certified facilitator to gain first-hand experience and fluency with the IM High School Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II curricula. Participants will understand the following aspects of the IM curricula: structure of an IM lesson, available assessment resources and their purposes, instructional routines, The 5 Practices for Orchestrating Mathematical Discussion, how Math Language Routine suppot English learners and students with disabilities, how to organize and plan for Lesson 1, and techniques for setting classroom norms that support problem-based learning.

Things to know -

Workshop registration does not include breakfast or lunch. Please feel free to bring your own food and beverage or visit the CREC Central Café (111 Charter Oak Ave.) which offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options with daily specials.
Bring a refillable water bottle and/or beverage.
Bring a laptop or other electronic device (some workshops require only laptop) for note taking and access to online resources.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the workshop.
Sometimes workshop room temperatures can vary so we suggest you dress in layers.
