Integrating Mindfulness Into Education
A growing body of research indicates that mindfulness practices may positively influence students’ physical health, psychological well-being, social skills, and academic performance. It can also help reduce teacher stress and burnout. In this workshop, you will: 1) Learn what Mindfulness is (and isn’t!). 2) Understand the impact and benefits of Mindfulness practices. 3) Review important research on Mindfulness. 4) Discuss how Mindfulness programs can be implemented into K-12 education, after school programs for youth, and university settings. 5) Participate in a variety of brief mindfulness exercises throughout the day.
