PTHV (Parent Teacher Home Visit) Training: Families and Educators on the Same Team for Student Success
PTHV Training
The research is clear—families are essential to student success. The Parent Teacher Home Visit Program (PTHV) connects the expertise of the family about their children with the classroom expertise of the teacher. This model has been proven to increase student attendance and achievement, and decrease suspension and expulsion rates. Most importantly, PTHV serves to build mutually respectful relationships between families and school staff. The PTHV Program is recognized as a highly effective family engagement practice for early education and for schools in CT.Who should attend?A team representing teacher/s, school administrators, early education program providers and/or support staff who plan to implement the program. *Important Note: The classroom teacher makes the visit.*
