8th Grade Science STEM Kit Training 2021-2022
8th Grade Science teachers will participate in an immersive professional development where they explore Inquiry Based Learning.
Objectives
Teachers will leave this session with an understanding how to implement inquiry-based learning in their classrooms using a kit from the Center for Inquiry Based Leanring.
Rationale for Providing this Professional Learning Experience
When students explore content prior to receiving direct instruction they are more likely to understand the content without misconceptions. Teachers can use this while planning with the 5E model merged with Learning Focused Lesson Planning.
