Behavior Support Monthly Professional Development Meeting
Behavior Support Staff (for Behavior Support Teachers, SED Teachers) Professional Development and Monthly Meeting - This is the mandatory NCI Refresher Training, monthly professional development, collaboration and updating meeting for all district Behavior Support Teachers and Teachers of students with severe emotional disabilities.
Objectives
Behavior Support Teachers and Teachers of students with severe emotional disabilities will increase their knowledge of available strategies, interventions and resources that they may utilize in their classrooms, in 1:1/small group intervention sessions and share with SPED and GEN ED colleagues that also serve students with challenging behaviors.
Rationale for Providing this Professional Learning Experience
By providing Behavior Support Teachers and teachers of students with severe emotional disabilities with additional resources/strategies/interventions to address/modify challenging behaviors that are disruptive to learning/instruction in the classroom setting; the goal is use these tools to decrease behaviors that result in disciplinary action; thereby, increasing instructional time and opportunity for academic success.
