Reading Research to Classroom Practice - Blended Version
Reading Research to Classroom Practice (RRtCP) is a high-quality professional learning course based on the most current research in the field of literacy. It provides educators and administrators with the foundational knowledge needed to support students with persistent reading challenges, including dyslexia. This rigorous course includes literacy instruction utilizing evidence-based strategies along with a comprehensive assessment system to guide instruction. Topics include: Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Word Recognition, Spelling, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Specific strategies using explicit, multisensory, systematic instruction are modeled and delivered using case studies and active participation. This is the same course as the Traditional 5 Day RRtCP course. Only the format has been changed, which includes a mix of self-paced Canvas modules and Live Days. The homework requirements remain the same. Canvas Modules must be completed prior to the Live Days in order for participants to be prepared for the Live Days. Once a Canvas module opens, the participant will have 2 weeks to complete it. If the modules and assignments are not completed on time the participant will be removed from the course. (ex. Canvas Module 1 must be completed prior to attending Live Day 1). In order to participate in the Blended format, you must have a NCEES account. If you do not have a NCEES account, you will need to take the Traditional RRtCP course. Do not sign up for this course if you do not have a NCEES account. Course Dates: January 30th - April 26th.
