Nature Workshop
Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE) is offering THE NATURE WORKSHOP. This workshop is In-Person and 1 session. Maria Montessori once said “How often is the soul of man – especially that of the child – deprived because one does not put him in contact with nature.”
Objectives
This course will: • Provide opportunities for teachers to learn how nature can benefit their students, and themselves • Introduce the importance of outdoor learning and activities, as well as discussions about how to incorporate nature into classroom instruction • Give participants a chance to experience firsthand the benefits of spending time in nature with outside activities throughout the day.
Notes

The Nature Workshop fee is $150 per person.

Schedule for the day
9:00 a.m.     Lecture and discussion
*History and current trends of nature and the child
*How nature benefits social, emotional and academic growth
*Accessing nature in the schoolyard, solutions and connections
*Guided by Nature exhibit
*Outdoor activity
12:00-1:30 p.m.   Lunch- Bring your own lunch
1:30-4:00 p.m.     Outdoor activities including:
*Observing the natural world
*Nature and art
*Poetry writing
Light refreshments provided throughout the day.
