Audiology Bootcamp
Participants will be provided current information on audiological services, terminology,and equipment like hearing aids, cochlear implants, and remote microphone hearing assistive technology (RM HAT) to increase district staff’s understanding in audiological technology, connectivity, and proper use of RM HAT, as well as an overview of hearing loss and auditory processing disorders."
Objectives
Participants will increase their knowledge of current audiological equipment most commonly recommended to students with hearing loss as well as common audiology services and terminology. Participants will increase their confidence in supporting students with their equipment, their understanding of proper use of RM HAT in different settings and with different technology, and their ability to perform basic troubleshooting and report issues of audiological equipment. Participants will also gain an understanding in hearing loss and auditory processing disorder and their treatment options."
