(ON-DEMAND) CCRS - ELA 101: Instructional Shifts, Text Complexity & Vocabulary

In this training, you will investigate the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) for Adult Education and review the Key Instructional Shifts identified in the area of English Language Arts (ELA). The importance of choosing texts of appropriate complexity and teaching academic vocabulary will be identified in this video training. Activities will encourage a deeper understanding of how to use the standards when planning lessons in all content areas.

Please note that the Total Contact Hours are a reflection of the points required to complete the course and not a reflection of the time it will take for a participant to complete.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this video training, you will have:
  • Become familiar with the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) for Adult Education.
  • Described the three Key Instructional Shifts
  • Chosen the appropriate text for your adult learners.
  • Identified academic vocabulary.
