(ON-DEMAND) CCRS - Math 102A: Standards for Mathematical Practice
This video training is self-paced - please disregard the start date and times.
Building on work done in the Math 101A and 101B video training, you will analyze problems and habits of the mind required to solve problems. Through the various activities, you will investigate Practices that illustrate ways in which students are to engage with the subject matter of the content standards. The skills of complex problem-solving, reasoning and proof, precise communication, and making connections will be practiced and discussed. The activities will also encourage a deeper understanding of how to apply the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) in Adult Education instruction.

Please note that the Total Contact Hours are a reflection of the points required to complete the course and not a reflection of the time it will take for a participant to complete.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this video training, you will have:
  • Developed a working understanding of the Standards for Mathematical Practice.
  • Explored how these Standards influence the CCR content standards as well as how they should guide your instruction.
  • Considered ways and resources to elicit Standards for Mathematical Practice from your students.
