Language Difference or Learning Difference?
In this workshop, participants will acquire a functional understanding of the Stages of Second Language Acquisition, recognizing that it's a dynamic and unique process unique to each multilingual student. Participants will explore how to facilitate both quantitative and qualitative conversations with colleagues when a multilingual learner faces perceived learning difficulties and engage in collecting appropriate data to support these conversations without making assumptions of a 'learning disability' or the need for 'testing.' We'll also help you develop or revise a system that indicates the data to collect in Tier 1 when an ML student is learning language and academics. We collaborate with the perspective that multilingualism is an asset and more inclusive and effective learning environments are critical for multilingual learners’ linguistic, academic, and social development.

Teacher Evaluation Training
The primary goal of the educator evaluation and support system is to strengthen individual and collective practices to increase student learning, growth and achievement. To achieve this goal, the CSDE convened the Educator Evaluation and Support (EES) Council to reimagine CT’s educator evaluation and support system. The new system stream lines and transforms the process to focus on a continuous cycle of feedback and reflection, engaging educators and leaders in professional learning, growth and continuous improvement to positively impact learning, growth and success of the whole child. If you are an administrator who evaluates teachers select one of the six 3 day training to prepare for the 24-25shift when the new system will be implemented.
