All Grades, General - In Preventing Burnout participants will be providing information on what burnout can look like through personal experiences including videos and information from professional publications. The main takeaways of Preventging Burnout are to learn what burnout can look like, what personal or professional stresses you have which will be explored through a questionaire and graphing activity, and how you can use this data you collect on yourself to improve your daily life. The activity will help you privately view your own mental health and confirm if you have any areas in your life that may provide you too much stress and how you may help improve that through recreational therapy. This workshop will only require a pen or pencil for filling out a questionaire. I will share a QR for a link to my slide deck so participants can have access to all the information.

W112: Reflect, Refine, Repeat: Practicing Conversations That Center Identity and Difference

All grades, General (Environment, Instruction), Diversity, equity, inclusion - In this session, participants will deepen their understanding and practice of navigating conversations related to differences in race, identity, ethnicity, language, and perspective. This session builds on their prior learning and experience, offering a supportive space to revisit shared norms that help guide respectful, equity-centered dialogue. Participants will engage in collaborative review of agreements, conversation starters, and prompts to assess their level of comfort and identify areas where they may need further development. They will then participate in role-play scenarios and guided discussions to practice managing real-world classroom and colleague interactions involving difficult or sensitive topics. As a result of their learning, participants will leave with a clearer sense of their strengths, areas for growth, and practical strategies to approach identity-based conversations with greater confidence, empathy, and clarity. Please bring a laptop.
