Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Booster Session - Classroom Systems
This workshop will review what is involved and what should be considered when developing classroom supports within a PBIS framework. Content will include how to organize supports for classroom teachers and classroom domains. The five evidenced-based practices of classroom management will be discussed and a tool for teacher self-management will be reviewed. Enrollment requires a minimum of two participants from each school.
Objectives
Teams will plan on how they will work with staff to:1. Maximize structure in the classroom. 2. Post, teach, review, monitor, and reinforce a small number of positively stated expectations.3. Actively engage students in observable ways.4. Establish a continuum of strategies to acknowledge appropriate behavior.5. Establish a continuum of strategies to respond to inappropriate behavior. Enrollment requires a minimum of two participants from each school.
