CT Family Engagement Conference: Building Dual Capacity with An Emphasis Equity and Diversity
The focus of the 1 day conferences workshops related to The Dual Capacity Framework for Family School Partnerships (endorsed by the US department of Education), with an emphasis on equity and diversity. The Framework is designed to build capacity among educators, families and community providers to support student success. The Framework is a map to develop strategies, policies, and programs and to build the skills, knowledge, and dispositions of all family-school-community stakeholders.Keynote speaker, Dr. Patricia Edwards, professor at Michigan State University, is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the field of family engagement multicultural literacy and intergenerational programming. Her research and expertise will provide attendees with practical strategies for partnerships for family and school involvement.
Objectives
Participant will learn about the dual capacity framework from a social justice and equity perspective.
