CREC Dine & Discuss for Preschool -Grade 1 Teachers: Make, Take, and Teach
A hands-on workshop designed to help teachers prepare materials that can be used by your students in any content area. These materials will enhance lessons by increasing the cognitive engagement of the learner. Students will be motivated to learn through play and as a natural consequence; there will be a reduction of challenging behaviors. Research states that teachers who make materials to use in their classrooms are much more likely to implement the strategies that accompany those materials. Research also states that students in the early grades are naturally curious about the world around them and there is therefore value on hands on activities that will allow students to learn through inquiry and games they enjoy. In this session we will provide you with all the materials you need, a learning log, and an instruction booklet.Come with a colleague, bring your creative muse, and enjoy dinner on us!
