Early Childhood Special Education Referrals and Comprehensive Evaluations

Comprehensive and meaningful assessment in early childhood requires training and specialized experience in understanding family dynamics, culture, and child development. Also required is knowledge of assessment tools, techniques, and early childhood curricula to prevent detrimental decisions that results from misinterpretation of assessment data.
Objectives
This workshop will provide you with a foundation and framework for comprehensive early childhood assessment; evaluation methods and tools for early childhood evaluation teams; evaluation method for determining eligibility for preshcool special education services; processes for conducting accurate analysis of assessment information.
Notes

Things to know -

·   Workshop registration does not include breakfast or lunch. Please feel free to bring your own food and beverage or visit the CREC Central Café (111 Charter Oak Ave.) which offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options with daily specials.

·   Bring a refillable water bottle and/or beverage.

·   Bring a laptop to this session for access to online resources.

·   Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the workshop.

·   Sometimes workshop room temperatures can vary so we suggest you dress in layers.
