IM 6-12 Focus on Vertical Alignment: Expressions and Equations
How might teachers leverage the coherence of IM 6–12 Math in order to enhance access to grade-level mathematics for students? The purpose of this session is to uncover and explore the development of topics, mathematical diagrams, and representations for expressions and equations in the curriculum.
Objectives
Learner Objectives: 1. Describe the purpose of one progression of representations in the curriculum. 2. Differentiate the purposes of various representations. 3. Explain how representations are used to help students understand concepts and mathematical structure. 4. Recognize connections and dependencies across units and courses within IM Math™.
