Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Regional Refresher Course “Mathematics” 2023 (Primary 3-6)
Primary (3-6) Topic – Uncovering the Joy of Math
MTCNE is hosting an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Refresher Course in Bloomfield, CT. The Refresher Course is intended to provide AMI Diploma holders fresh perspectives and insights into the work they practice in the classroom daily. Gretchen Hall, MTCNE’s very own Director of Training, will be prepared to guide attendees through a deep dive into Uncovering the Joy of Math. The refresher course will revisit the materials for math in a lively and joyful journey from the basics of quantity and numeracy to the passage to abstraction. Whether you are intimidated by or in love with the materials, this is the course for you! We will combine theoretical review, hands on experiences and classroom applications so that you can walk away with an increased confidence and enthusiasm for presenting the materials of math to your children. The Refresher Course is open to all, though the AMI Refresher Course Certificate will only be awarded to AMI Diploma holders who complete the course requirements. For those who do not hold an AMI Diploma, a letter of completion can be provided upon request.
Objectives
Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Refresher Course will: •Give you a deepened appreciation of the theory behind the materials • Give you an understanding of the scope and sequence for each of the areas of math •Provide an understanding of the scope and sequence for each of the areas of math • Introduce how to link observation to lesson planning to guide development • Provide implementation of strategies in your classroom •Introduce resources to use in your daily practice

The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Regional Refresher Primary Topic – Uncovering the Joy of Math course fee is $349.00 USD per person.

~6:00 PM- 7:30 PM Virtual Session to Share Classroom Experience

Please note, participants eligible to receive the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Refresher Course Certificate will have to present an AMI Diploma # to MTCNE at enrollment and must successfully complete the course.
