Taking Steps Toward Collaboration and Mutuality
UPLIFT Trauma-Informed Care Practice Series
In this module, participants will explore the nuances and many variables that exist when implementing collaboration strategies aimed at students, staff, caregivers, or community members. Conversation will help to identify natural supports within the building that can be augmented to facilitate strong caregiver-staff relationships, and will include a review of national and community-based resources that can assist with building mutual resilience within families and communities. Strategies to empower parents/caregivers in a culturally responsive fashion will be explored
Objectives
•Identify the extent to which your school/district is aware of and/or connected with external community mental health agencies and community-trusted organizations (i.e., faith-based organizations, health centers, town-based social services, regional behavioral health action organizations, etc.) to further support students exposed to trauma and families in need.•Increase capacity for families, students & staff to access trauma-specific tiered interventions based in the school or community.•Learn the strategies that promote collaboration and mutuality in academic and social environments.
